Helicopter Ride

This is my story on the helicopter ride. We had to do a story true or false and Mr.Billings had to guess if it was true of false.
WALRUS about writing descriptive recounts

How will I know I am successful:

  • Using descriptive words such as adjectives and adverbs

  • Using figurative language like simile, metaphor, onomatopoeia, alliteration,

  • Chronological order (In order of events happening)

  • Paragraphs - 1 idea per paragraph.

Helicopter Ride

It was a night before going on the  helicopter. I remember I had wanted to do this for a while it was happening tomorrow. I was so excited. I could hardly sleep that night.

I  got dressed and washed really quick that morning so we could go and not miss the booking. We then packed a scrumptious picnic for afterwards.

In the car driving to the helicopter was really exciting. When you were close enough you could see the helicopters taking off and landing. When we arrived at  I knew that it was going to be really fun. We were getting ready to go on the Helicopter I was starting to get a little nervous (but more excited than anything.)

We took our seats on the helicopter the propellers started whizzing round and round until they were a blur. As the helicopter took of it rocked side to side a little like a sidewards swing. We then started going up and up.  We flew over Mountains, lakes, river, animals. The animals looked like ants and the rivers like puddles but the mountains were still really big.. The views were breath taking.

After the time was up it was time to land. The Helicopter rocked side to side and I was starting to get a bit sick but as soon as I thought I was about to be sick it had landed back on the ground.

My legs where a bit wobbly when I started walking but they soon were fine again I Was so happy I had finally been in a helicopter.
I really enjoyed that ride and would love to do it again any time!
