BUILDING A BETTER FLAG??

YEAH RIGHT

I think that the flag being changed is something that New Zealand should put a stop to. The controversy on the Nz flag has disrupted the population in an unpleasant way. To be to put my thoughts on the line I think that this is a waste of time, money and efficiency. With the time & money you destroy planning this flag you could be helping the struggling homeless, the locked up animals trapped inside the SPCA or even the population of New Zealand improving the land that surrounds us each and every day. You could multiple things including, a nature walk, an orienteering track, a cinema, a shopping mall or a water park for the amount of money you spend on the flag. You could donate it to multiple charities, and one question that keeps playing in my mind is where was all this money when Christchurch needed help after their two massive earthquakes or when Wanganui was flooded, and multiple other scenarios when New Zealand needed help.  

My next thought is the designs. Their a problem.  I thought I would check out the designs for the new flag to what are causing all the commotion to see if I could compromise my puzzled mind on the the change. But as I was scrolling through I couldn't help but laugh at some of the designs. The designs looked like a young  year 3 class has got together and came up with designs they thought would represent our country.

New Zealand has been through a lot since 1902 when the momentarily flag was chosen to show the rest of the world we are proud to be part of New Zealand. The ANZAC soldiers, the Napier earthquake both two of the few things that represent our proud country. The Anzacs fought under our flag knowing that each time they glanced up at the flag that they were making New Zealand proud. To get rid of the flag would just be like getting rid of history.

Why is John Key’s opinion the only one that matters? He might be the Prime Minister but that doesn't mean he can destroy history, get rid of New Zealand's pride and waste $26,000,000 on a flag. I’m sure I'm not the only one who thinks this is a total waste of time money & efficiency. I am thoroughly against the flag being changed especially to one of the designs that have been suggested. I will stand by this till the day I die. DON'T CHANGE THE FLAG!!!
